In order to meet the nutritional needs of the growing population and aiming to offer healthy, natural and innovative products, Fechter started investing in Pangasius fish farming, which is one of the most cultivated species all over the world.
The basis of the Pangasius fish farming project is a zero waste perspective and an integrated production model. The condensed water generated during the production process at Fechter Burdur Biogas Power Plant and Fechter Burdur Fish Processing Integrated Facilities and for which energy is spent for cooling will be used for the breeding of Pangasius fish. In this way, it is aimed to provide intensive fish farming for 12 months by providing optimum conditions for pangasius fish living in hot water.
In this investment, which is a first in Turkey in terms of its capacity and being an integrated facility, the waste water from fish production will be cleaned with biological filters and its continuous use will be ensured and thus water waste will be prevented. It is aimed to use the fish excrement from the filter as natural fertilizer.
Pangasius, especially known as tropical and subtropical climate fish, lives in waters with a temperature of 25-28 °C. The facility to be established to produce Pangasius fish, which converts approximately 2/3 of the feed it eats into meat, aims to be the first and largest facility of our country with an annual production capacity of 2000 tons.
Pangasius, a freshwater cultured fish, has been widely consumed in Asia, Equatorial countries, America, Canada and Europe in recent years.
